NOT happy.

Well, the Mazda cake is done.

I'm not happy with myself.  I learned so much in the past 2 days of making this cake.

o m g.

I finished at 1am this morning.  I am so tired, I could cry....and for what?!?!?!

The client likes it.....but still.....makes me nervous for my Lightning McQueen I gotta make for Sunday morning.

Anyhoo....here it is.  *sigh*

CARS!

This morning I brought in my "Tigger head" to show the kids at daycare.  The twins couldn't wait to show their friends.

Of course that lead to "You make cakes...can you make me one" I LOVE IT!! :)
So I got asked to do a Cars cake.  For THIS friday.  The SAME Friday I need to give the Mazda cake.

I'm sweating....but I've got this. ;-)  I can do this! :)

Stand by! :)

Another Cake order

This one is for June :)  A little girl named Audrée :)  I can't wait to try to make this one :)

I'm seriously loving this! :)

ORDERS!!!

I just got another order to make a Tigger cake!!!  I'm so excited about this one.  It's gonna be a challenging one and I can't wait!!

So this is what I'm going to attempt to reproduce

So the plan is to make the body out of cake (and the #1) and I'll make his head out of Rice Crispies!  If I make his head out of cake, it'll be too heavy and risks falling off (I don't want the 1 year old boy to be traumatized!!)

I can't wait to see what mine looks like!!!  I wanna go home NOW and give it a try! lol  But I work till 10pm tonight.  Sigh.

Of course I'll post pics of the one I make :)  Stay tuned!!!

Sugar Cream Bliss

When I started this blog, I wrote about Recipe to Riches and my Sugar Cream Bliss.

I just wanted to share a picture of my presentation :)

And yes, I do sell my Sugar Cream Bliss.  In individual portions as seen on the picture.  $25 for 50 pieces.

Enjoy!

2006 Mazda 3 DEMO

A coworker (at my 2nd job) was talking about a cake she wanted to have made.  She had asked around, but no one gave her a defenitive answer, so, being the "go to girl" that I am, I offered to give it a try.  I told her that I wouldn't be offended if it wasn't what she was looking for.

I bought a car mold, and went to town.  From the cake pan, to the almost finished product, this is what it looked like.

My "real" cake will be so much better.  I took many notes of what to do and what not to do.  She needs it for March 30th.  I can't wait to redo it!!!!
How much did I charge her?  $40.  She offered $50.  I came back with $40 and a referal letter.  DEAL!

I will post the REAL cake at the end of march.

Winnie the Pooh and friends!

For my youngest son's 2nd birthday, I wanted a Winnie the Pooh cake.  When I inquired about a cake I found on a website from a lady in Ottawa, I was shocked that she quoted me at $75!!!!

$75 FOR CAKE?!?!?!  WHAT?!?!

Being a single mother of FOUR boys, I don't have that kind of money to "eat".  So, I decided I was gonna give it a try.
While I don't have a picture of the finished cake, I do have pictures of the caracters I made.

TADA! My fancy Winnie the Pooh and friends!
I apparently need to work on making arms lol  Remember, I am self taught! Must "youtube" more tips and tricks!!

Welcome!

Well hello there!!!

Welcome to my Kitchen blog.  I will write about baking, cooking and creating.  I'm a self taught hobby baker/cooker.  I've discovered that I can pretty much make anything if I give it a try.  As for the name Babydoll....that's just my pet name.  And since I spend all my free time in the kitchen (and will now be blogging about it) I figured, why not Babydoll's Kitchen!

I recently applied for Recipe to Riches and received a gold ticket.  I received a call telling saying that unfortunetaly, I wasn't making it to the next step (which was filming the show).  Yes, I was totally bummed adn still heart broken, but the fact that Laura Calder, Tony Chapman and Dana McCauley LOVED my Sugar Cream Bliss, is a huge accomplishment and made me want to dig deeper.  I decided to throw myself into the unknown, and see what I was capable of doing.

Stay tuned, you're about to salivate! (At least I hope you do!)
